Streaming Live Situation Video Over Cellular Networks
Dragontech Systems leads the development of wireless technology agnostic, operator and region independent router technologies for connecting in field rescue services to command and emergency dispatching centers. Connectivity, coverage and service availabiliy are paramount.
The TAQTRON Public Safety routers guatantee systems stay online with seamless zero-loss and zero-delay VPN handover across multiple cellular EDGE/3G/LTE, CDMA2000 or Satellite uplinks. Routers select the best available uplink using an intelligent algorithm. A VPN tunnel is open and available on all qualified uplinks. GPS is used to locate the rescue unit vehicles.
Commercial cellular networks have location dependent interference and signal strength characteristics. Throughput and latency changes dynamically and in a mobile environment staying on-line with constant service availability is a challenge.
The Dragontech TAQTRON router offers a secure and uninterrupted “always-on” connection over all available links in any wireless coverage scenario. The router connects to the vehicle-side systems such as cameras, in-vehicle computers and NAS storage devices with an Ethernet interface. A local secure WiFi hotspot is available for rescue personnell and operation commanders enabling access to remote databases for information. Efficiency and safety is increased with bidirectional communication and data exchange with command center during assigment.
Multi-uplink VPN Router Streams Situation Video and Connects On-Board Systems
In multi-uplink VPN handover mode the Dragontech routers maintain a live VPN connection on all available uplinks. The router link qualification algorithm selects the best uplink that us used based on a set of criteria and past geo-location data to support decision making. One of the VPN tunnels is used for communication at a time. When link qualification changes or one uplink fails the packet stream is directed to another VPN tunnel. This handover (or data redirection) has no delay, and no dataloss and it is totally transparent to applications and sessions are maintained. Routers can be controlled from remote and the router can be accessed through any available connection. Routers continuously send information to the management server database. This data is used for troubleshooting, reporting, analysis and creating the geo-location based database on network availability and characteristics.
